Nebraska and UCLA team up to honor Nick Pasquale prior to game
Emotions were flowing prior to today's game between No. 16 UCLA and No. 23 Nebraska as the Bruins, Cornhuskers and the entire sold-out crowd at Memorial Stadium celebrated the life of the late UCLA walk-on wide receiver Nick Pasquale. Pasquale passed away this past Sunday in his hometown of San Clemente after he was struck by a car.
In addition to a moment of silence before kickoff, the Nebraska student section adorned banners reading "Two schools. One team." and "N #36" representing Pasquale's jersey number. Just after the coin flip, the student section also released 200 gold and blue balloons into the air.
Both teams also honored the late player by wearing his number, 36, on their uniforms during the game. UCLA sported patches with the number while Nebraska adorned helmet stickers.
