UW's Deontae Cooper scores the first touchdown of his career
It's a massive understatement to say that Washington redshirt junior running back Deontae Cooper has been through a lot. After joining the Huskies in 2010 following an illustrious high school career, Cooper suffered a season-ending left knee injury that would force him to redshirt his first season. Coming back the next season, he reinjured the same knee and was again forced to sit out the season after undergoing surgery. To add insult to his previous two injuries, he then injured his right knee, which required yet another season-ending surgery.
Cooper can finally put all of that behind him after today.
Early in the fourth quarter of the Huskies' route of Idaho State, Cooper dashed up the middle from four yards out for the first touchdown of his career. Check out what he had to say about the moment below:
