BERKELEY – California women’s golf cracked both national rankings this week after opening the fall season with a team victory at the Ptarmigan Classic in September.
The Bears come in at No. 17 in the GolfStat poll and No. 25 in the GolfWorld/WGCA Coaches Poll, pushing Cal into both polls for the first time since the early portion of the 2012-13 season.
Seven Pac-12 teams are in the GolfStat top 25 with Washington, UCLA and USC occupying the top three spots by the organization. USC is the top-ranked team in the GolfWorld/WGCA poll and is followed by Alabama and Oklahoma.
The Bears next hit the course at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational from Oct. 7-8 in Sahalee, Wash.
