WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Kyung Kim of USC has been named the Pac-12 Women’s Golfer of the Month for September, the Pac-12 announced today.

Kim, a sophomore from Chandler, Ariz., led USC with five rounds in the 60’s last month and became the first Trojan since Dewi Claire Schreefel in the Fall of 2007 to go under 70 in all three rounds of an event. She won the season-opening Fall Preview at 6-under 204 (69-69-66) with her three round total tying the second lowest ever in USC history. Her efforts led the second-ranked Trojans to a first-place finish at the Dale McNamara Fall Preview, which featured 12 other teams currently ranked in the Golfweek Top 20.

Finishing tied for second place at the Windy City Collegiate Championship with a 3-under 210 (69-68-70), Kim posted five straight rounds in the 60’s to start the season, which is a school record. Her pair of top-two finishes to start the season gives her five top-three finishes in her young career.

USC has started this season with two straight wins for the first time in school history and has won a school-record five in a row.
