No. 4 Cal MWP Tipped by No. 3 Pacific, 7-6

BERKELEY – In a battle between two of the top teams in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, No. 3-ranked Pacific tipped No. 4 Cal, 7-6, Saturday (Oct. 5) in a televised Pac-12 Networks match at Spieker Aquatics Complex. The Golden Bears (8-3, 0-1) were led by junior Olympian Aleksa Saponjic’s two goals, including a score with 6:37 in the third period that gave Cal a 6-4 advantage.

Cardinal Rolls Past Broncos

Fourth-ranked Stanford men’s water polo opened its 2013 home slate with a 20-5 victory over No. 15 Santa Clara Saturday at Avery Aquatic Center.

No. 2 Trojans Start Strong In MPSF Play, Beat UC Irvine 18-7

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. — The No. 2 USC men's water polo team was hot out of the gates in opening 2013 MPSF competition with a decisive win today over visiting No. 9 UC Irvine. The Trojans peeled out with seven unanswered goals against the Anteaters and put forth a strong first-half effort en route to a final 18-7 victory. That bumps USC up to 13-1 overall and a 1-0 start to MPSF play.
