Top-10 teams stack men’s soccer in week two

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Three teams are ranked in the top 10 nationally and two teams remain unbeaten overall after the first weekend of Pac-12 play that saw some of the toughest competition in the nation. All five matches played in the Conference opening weekend were decided by two goals or fewer, including a tie between CALIFORNIA and WASHINGTON, who have yet to suffer a loss this season ... The second week of Pac-12 play will be highlighted by three televised matches, including another top-10 matchup between No. 1 California and No. 6 UCLA on Sunday, Oct. 6 that will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Networks ... The SoCal schools host NorCal as STANFORD and California travel to face UCLA and SAN DIEGO STATE ... Washington will play a non-conference match at in-state rival Seattle University to kick off their week before hosting OREGON STATE on Monday in a game that can be seen on Pac-12 Networks ... The top-three Pac-12 teams are all ranked in the top 10 in all three national polls, with California taking the No. 1 spot in both NSCAA and Soccer America’s weekly rankings. Washington is third across the board, and UCLA boosted to No. 6/5/8 after their victory over San Diego State ... Pac-12 teams continue to represent in the national statistics, with at least two teams in the top 25 in seven separate statistical categories and at least one individual player in five categories.
