Thierjung Caps No. 1 Cal’s Comeback Win Over SDSU

SAN DIEGO – Ten games into his young career, California freshman Christian Thierjung has already scored two memorable goals, with the latest giving the top-ranked Golden Bears a 2-1, come-from-behind victory over San Diego State. The reserve forward scored at 79:17 at the SDSU Sports Deck to keep Cal unbeaten. The Bears’ record now stands at 8-0-2 and 2-0-1 in the Pac-12 Conference.

Simmons’ 89th-Minute Game-Winner Gives UCLA 1-0 Win over Stanford

For the second straight match, the UCLA men’s soccer team left it to the last minute, getting a goal from junior Aaron Simmons with just over a minute to play to defeat the Stanford Cardinal, 1-0, in front of a crowd of 1,092 at Drake Stadium. The win was UCLA’s fourth straight and improved the Bruins’ record to 7-2-1 overall and 2-0-0 in Pac-12 play. The Cardinal dropped to 6-3-1 overall and 1-2-0 in Pac-12 play with the loss.
