Colorado sees itself as the top dog

Oct 17, 2013

There is a very clear número uno in the Pac-12 according to the media, as Arizona garnered 21 of the 23 first-place votes in the Pac-12 men’s basketball preseason media poll.

However, the Buffs don’t quite see it that way. Picked to finish third, Colorado has high expectations of itself in the 2013-14 season. And, with a young and talented roster led by first-team All-Pac-12er Spencer Dinwiddie, why shouldn’t the sky be the limit?

“We don’t view Arizona as the cream and everybody else,” Dinwiddie said politely, being careful not to take a jab at the Wildcats in the process. “We view ourselves as the cream and everyone else can fight to get us.”

“Confidence has never been one of Spencer’s problems,” head coach Tad Boyle added amidst a round of giggles in the media throng. “In terms of trying to pick a champion today, it doesn’t really do us any good. I do know that this league is as strong as it has been top to bottom since I’ve been here.”
