Arizona XC Women Win Pac-12 Championship

Louisville, Colo. – The University of Arizona Wildcat men’s and No. 1 women’s cross country team competed at the Pac-12 Championships on Saturday in Louisville, Colo. The women’s team claimed the first conference championship in program history. The women’s team was led by 2013 Scholar Athlete of the Year, senior Elvin Kibet. She took second place with a time of 21:15.

Back-To-Back-To-Back Pac-12 Champs

LOUISVILLE, Colo. — The No. 1 ranked University of Colorado men’s cross country team soundly defeated the rest of the field by recording 28 points to win its third consecutive Pac-12 Conference Men’s Cross Country Championship on Saturday at Coal Creek Golf Course. The No. 16 CU women also had an impressive afternoon and placed second in the team race to No. 1 Arizona.

Cheserek Stands Tall at Pac-12 Championships

LOUISVILLE, Colo. – Edward Cheserek etched himself into the Oregon history books becoming the first freshman ever to claim a Pac-12 cross country championship title. The freshman from Kenya by way of Newark, N.J., paced the No. 4 ranked Men of Oregon to a second-place finish with 54 points behind Colorado’s 28 at the Pac-12 Cross Country Championships Saturday at Coal Creek Golf Course in Louisville, Colo. Cheserek’s first-place finish time of 24:36 marked his fourth top-four this year.

Cuffe Wins Pac-12 Crown

LOUISVILLE, Colo. — Stanford junior Aisling Cuffe won the Pac-12 women's cross country championship on Saturday, giving Stanford back-to-back individual winners. Cuffe won the 6-kilometer race (3.73 miles) in 21:04 at Coal Creek Golf Course (elevation: 5,335 feet) outside of Boulder. The Stanford men, led by runner-up Jim Rosa, had five among the top 34, and placed third as a team.

Women Take Third, Men Fifth At Pac-12 Cross

LOUISVILLE, Colo. – Solid top to bottom team efforts earned top-five finishes for both the Husky men’s and women’s cross country teams today at the Pac-12 Championships, the first ever held in the state of Colorado. Once again it was Aaron Nelson and Katie Flood leading the way for the Huskies, as the men finished in fifth-place and the women took third.
