Women’s Golf Wraps Fall Slate

TUCSON, Ariz. University of Arizona women’s golf wrapped the fall portion of the schedule with the Pac-12 Preview, in Kona, Hawaii, on Tuesday. The three-round, two-day event was held at the Nanea Golf Club. The Wildcats competed in four fall tournaments and captured four top-10 finishes.

USC won the Pac-12 Preview with a score of 861 (-15). UCLA finished second with an 862 (-14). Washington rounded out the top three with an 869 (-7). Arizona finished in seventh place with a score of 884 (+8). The Wildcats shot rounds of 287, 293 and 304. Bronte Law of UCLA was the individual medalist with a score of 211 (-8).

Freshman Wanasa Zhou paced Arizona with a tied for eighth-place finish. She fired rounds of 69, 74 and 74 for a score of 217 (-2). Her opening round of 69 was a collegiate low. Freshman Jessica Vasilic earned a top-25 finish in a tie for 22nd place. She scored a 223 (+4) with rounds of 77, 69 and 77.

Junior Kendall Prince and sophomore Lindsey Weaver finished in a four-way tie for 28th place. Prince collected rounds of 74, 73 and 78 for a score of 225 (+6). Weaver shot a 72, 77 and 76, also for a 225 (+6). Senior Andrea Vilarasau rounded out the Arizona five in a tie for 37th place. She scored a 72, 80 and 77 for a 229 (+10).

The Wildcats begin the 2014 spring schedule with the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, hosted by Ohio State, in Palos Verdes, Calif. (Feb. 9-11).
