Duck Women Extended At-Large Bid to NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. –  The Oregon women’s cross country team was one of 13 squads extended an at-large bid for the NCAA Championships Saturday. The NCAA Championships will be held next Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind.

The Duck women are the defending NCAA Champions.

The 15th-ranked Ducks finished third in Friday’s NCAA West Regional behind Arizona and Stanford.

Oregon was one of five Pac-12 women’s teams to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Arizona, Colorado and Stanford were automatic qualifiers, while Washington joined the Ducks as an at-large team.

In addition to Oregon and Washington, other schools earning at-large bids on Saturday were Brigham Young, Cornell, Indiana, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Princeton, San Francisco, Syracuse, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

The Duck men earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships by placing second at the NCAA West Regional on Friday.
