Postseason action begins for four men’s soccer teams
The regular season wrapped up with WASHINGTON taking home the Pac-12 crown after a stellar overtime victory at OREGON STATE that launched the Huskies over second-place UCLA for the title ... NCAA action starts this Thursday, Nov. 21, and four Pac-12 men’s soccer teams will be dancing at some point over the weekend. The four selections mark the most Conference teams in the tournament since 2006 ... STANFORD earned a berth after upsetting then-No. 5 CALIFORNIA and will be the lone league team competing in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinal hosts Loyola Marymount on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. PT ... UCLA received the No. 1-overall seed in the tournament and earned a first-round bye along with Washington (seeded No. 2) and California (seeded No. 4). All three teams will take to the pitch in second-round games on Sunday, Nov. 24. UCLA will host either Elon or Clemson at 8 p.m. PT, and the Huskies will host either Creighton or Seattle at 5 p.m. PT. California hosts the earliest game, taking on either Northwestern or Bradley at 1:30 p.m. PT ... UCLA clinched the No. 1 spot in the NSCAA weekly rankings for the first time this season, with Washington coming in at No. 2, their highest ranking this season. California came in at No. 6.
