13 Dawgs Honored On Pac-12 All-Academic Teams

WALNUT CREEK, CALIF – The Husky women’s soccer team was well represented on the Pac-12 All-Academic Teams. The Dawgs had two players earn first team honors with 13 honorees overall.
The 13 overall honors were the second most of any school in the Pac-12, trailing only Utah. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
Leading the way for Washington was senior Lindsey Bos and redshirt sophomore Megan Kufeld. Bos was one of the Huskies top defenders this season, starting in 20 games and recording one assist. She currently has a 3.73 GPA in the School of Accounting. Kufeld, Washington’s goalkeeper, had a total of 88 saves while recording seven shutouts. While majoring in Biology, Kufeld has held a GPA of 3.95.
The Huskies also had two players make Second Team All-Academic. Sophomore Allyson Brahs and senior Annie Sittauer contributed greatly on the field, while also shining in the classroom. Brahs was another integral part of the Huskies defending core, appearing in 20 games, while starting all but two of them. Brahs has a 3.91 GPA in the Arts and Science Pre-Major. Sittauer, who recorded 12 starts, played both midfield and defender for Washington. She is majoring in Communications, and has a GPA of 3.71.
Along with the nine who received First Team and Second Team awards, the Huskies had four student-athletes who received Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention Honors. Christina Archer, Chelsea Archer, Allie Beahan, Kate Bennett, Lindsay Elston, Isabel Farrell, McKenzie Karas, Jaclyn Softli and Hillary Zevenbergen were not only a major part of Washington’s team, but they also showed their skills in the classroom.
The Huskies finished the season with a record of 7-9-4 and a conference record of 3-4-4. The Dawgs missed the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in the last six seasons.
