Eleven Beavers Earn Pac-12 All-Academic Honors

Corvallis, Ore. – Eleven members of the Oregon State women’s soccer team were selected to Pac-12 All-Academic teams, as announced Thursday by conference Commissioner Larry Scott.

Senior’s Brandi Dawson and Jenna Richardson, and redshirt junior Brittney Oljar were given Pac-12 First Team honors for their outstanding accomplishments in the classroom and on the field. This is Richardson’s third consecutive First Team honor, and Dawson and Oljar’s second-straight year with a First Team selection.

Dawson and Richardson are both Human Development and Family Science majors, Public Health minors, and maintain 3.97 and 3.91 GPA’s, respectfully. Oljar is an Accountancy major and has maintained a 3.79 GPA. All three will be graduating within the next two terms.

Sophomores Audrey Gibb and Val Margerum, and senior Haley Shaw were honored with Pac-12 Second Team selections for their devotion to their studies and their sport. Gibb is a Pre-Chemical Engineer and maintains a 3.87 GPA, while Margerum is an Interior Design major with a 3.92 GPA. Shaw is a Human Development and Family Sciences major with a 3.71 GPA, and earns this accolade in addition to honorbale mention selections as a sophomore and junior.

Six were selected as Pac-12 Honorable Mentions for their excellent work both academically and athletically, including sophomores Gwen Bieck and Laura Rayfield, redshirt junior Marissa Kovac, and seniors Jacy Drobney and Erin Uchacz. Kovac, Drobney, and Uchacz have earned three-consecutive Honorable Mention selections and will be graduating within the school year.

In order to be selected to an All-Academic team, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a starter or significant contributor on the field.
