Pac-12 men's soccer on to third round of NCAA tournament

Of the 16 total teams remaining in the NCAA Division I men’s soccer tournament, four of them are Pac-12 teams. The third round of the championship looks to eliminate at least one as STANFORD and WASHINGTON go head-to-head in third-round action in the first postseason game between two Pac-12 opponents since the championship game between UCLA and Stanford in 2002 ... The Cardinal bested Loyola Marymount in a 1-1 overtime draw that ended with Stanford advancing on a 3-2 advantage in penalty kicks. Stanford then won over Cal State Northridge, 1-0, in its second-round match to continue to the third round. Washington defeated second-round opponent Seattle to make it to the third round, where they will host Stanford in a Pac-12 matchup on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 5 p.m. PT ... Top-seeded UCLA made easy work of Elon, shutting out the Phoenix, 4-0, in their second-round game. The Bruins will host Connecticut in the third round on Sunday at 5 p.m. PT ... California is the fourth league team in the third round of the tournament after defeating Bradley, 3-1, on Sunday in Berkeley. The Golden Bears will host Coastal Carolina on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 1:30 p.m. PT in Berkeley.
