Video: Ka'Deem Carey earned his Offensive Player of the Year award the hard way

Dec 2, 2013

How strong is Arizona running back Ka'Deem Carey? NFL Hall of Famer/Pac-12 Networks commentator Ronnie Lott says he couldn't tackle him.

Ronnie's been known to joke around on the set. But the point stands: Carey is strong as an ox.

After racking up more than 1,700 yards rushing at a Pac-12-leading clip of 156 yards per game, Carey is the 2013 Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year. The Tucson native and Doak Walker Award finalist is the first Wildcat to claim offensive POY honors in the history of the award. Lott and fellow Pac-12 Networks analyst Rick Neuheisel say Ka'Deem deserves extra credit for carrying the Wildcats' offense even though defenses keyed on stopping him.

"Everybody knew the offense had to run through No. 25 and yet no one could stop him," Neuheisel says.
