Pac-12 men’s water polo scores for Sunday, Dec. 8

Dec 8, 2013

SIX-PEAT IS COMPLETE!!

The consistent dominance is almost unfathomable. On Sunday, with 12-11 overtime victory over Pacific, the USC men’s water polo team won its sixth straight NCAA championship. The Trojans (28-4) came back from two goals down to send the match to overtime, where Nikola Vavic, the senior who had already scored three goals, hit the back of the net once more to give his squad the historic win.

Stanford Claims Third

The Stanford men’s water polo team ended its season with a win — but not in the match it wanted. The Cardinal easily dispatched St. Francis Brooklyn, 17-2, in the consolation match to take third place in the NCAA Championships on Sunday. Stanford, which scored the contest’s first 12 points at Avery Aquatic Center, finishes the 2013 season with a 23-6 record.
