UCLA Gymnastics Ranked Preseason No. 4

UCLA will open the 2014 gymnastics season ranked No. 4 in the preseason coaches poll. The Bruins have been ranked in the preseason Top 5 every year since the poll began in 1998.
The Bruins received one of 31 first-place votes and 648 total points to finish behind No. 1 Florida (755 points, 21 first-place votes), No. 2 Alabama (739 points) and No. 3 Oklahoma (728 points, 7 first-place votes). LSU rounds out the Top 5 at No. 5 (636 points)
The preseason rankings nearly mirror the teams' finish at the NCAA Championships a year ago. Florida won its first title, while Oklahoma finished in second place. Alabama was third, UCLA fourth and LSU fifth.
UCLA will face nine of the Top 25 teams this season and open with No. 1 Florida at home on Jan. 11. The Bruins also face No. 6 Utah three times, No. 7 Michigan and No. 9 Stanford twice.
All eight Pac-12 teams are ranked in the Top 25. Along with UCLA, Utah and Stanford, Oregon State is 12th, Arizona 17th, Washington 20th, California 22nd and Arizona State 25th.
