Sankey, ASJ Earn AP All-America Honors

NEW YORK – Washington tailback Bishop Sankey has earned second-team All-America from the Associated Press while Husky tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins was named to the third team, the AP announced today.

Sankey, a junior from Spokane, Wash., enters the Huskies' date at the Fight Hunger Bowl as the No. 3 rusher in the nation in terms of both yards and yards per game. The Doak Walker Award finalist set a UW record with 1,775 rushing yards while also scoring 18 rushing touchdowns.

Sankey was also named to the Walter Camp All-America second team, as well as the Athlon third team.

Seferian-Jenkins, a junior from Fox Island, Wash., won the John Mackey Award as the nation's top tight end. The Huskies record-holder in season and career receiving yards and receptions by a tight end, caught 33 passes for 413 yards and a team-high seven touchdowns this season.

The Dawgs depart for San Francisco on Sunday. They'll take on BYU in the Fight Hunger Bowl Dec. 27 at AT&T Park.
