WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UCLA defender Abby Dahlkemper was named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-America Scholar of the Year, the NSCAA announced Thursday. Earlier this week Dahlkemper earned her first career first-team NSCAA Academic All-America honor.

Dahlkemper, a junior from Menlo Park, Calif., is a psychology major carrying a 3.37 grade-point-average. She is a three-time first-team All-Pac-12 performer and was the anchor of the back line for UCLA in 2013, helping the Bruins capture their first NCAA National Championship in program history a few weeks ago. A three-year starter, Dahlkemper is a three-time NSCAA All-American honoree, earning third team accolades as a freshman, second team honors as a sophomore and first team honors this year. Dahlkemper is also a finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, considered the highest honor in Division I soccer.
