Michael Amick Named to All-Freshman Teams
Freshman defender Michael Amick was named to the first team of both the College Soccer News and Top Drawer Soccer All-Freshman teams, as announced by the publications today.
Amick, a native of Sunnyvale, Calif., played in 18 matches while making 16 starts. Spending the season mostly at center back, Amick played in six of UCLA's seven shutouts, amassing a total of 1,484 minutes to lead all UCLA freshmen. Additionally, he was named the No. 12 freshman to watch in the country by Top Drawer Soccer and helped UCLA earn the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2003.
Amick is one of just three freshmen from the Pac-12 to earn both Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News All-Freshman honors, joining Cristian Roldan from Washington and Jordan Morris from Stanford.
