STANFORD, Calif. -- Junior Alex Blandino has been named to three preseason All-America squads during the weeks leading up to Stanford's season opener. He is on the Louisville Slugger Preseason All-America Third Team, chosen by Collegiate Baseball newspaper, the Perfect Game second team and the Baseball America second team.Blandino started 52 games in 2013 and hit .268 with seven home runs and 32 runs batted in. The Cardinal's regular third baseman finished the year strong with 12 hits and 11 RBI in the final six games.A native of Palo Alto, Calif., Blandino was a Freshman All-American and All-Pac-12 honorable mention selection in 2012. He hit .294 in 43 games during his first season on The Farm.Stanford, ranked No. 26 in Collegiate Baseball's pre-season poll, starts the 2014 season on Feb. 14 against Rice at Klein Field at Sunken Diamond. The opener will be aired on the Pac-12 Network, one of 13 games the Cardinal will play on television during the regular season.
