WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - The Pac-12 Conference office announced today the Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Players of the Week for the week of Jan. 13-19. USC’s Cassie Harberts was voted the Pac-12 Player of the Week and WASHINGTON’s Kelsey Plum was tabbed the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season.

Senior forward Cassie Harberts (San Clemente, Calif.) had a historic week in helping the Trojans to two more wins at Galen Center. Harberts helped USC make history as the first-ever men’s or women’s team to reach triple digits in Galen Center, tallying 30 points in the 109-85 win over Oregon to close out the weekend. She was 13-for-19 from the floor (.684), adding seven rebounds, six assists and a pair of steals. The 109-point outing for USC was its highest since 1982. Harberts started the weekend by leading all scorers with 22 points in USC’s 81-60 victory over Oregon State. Harberts entered the top 10 in career scoring, knocking out USC head coach and Trojan great Cynthia Cooper, and grabbed her 800th-career rebound this week. Harberts averaged 26.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, shooting 60 percent from the floor.

Freshman guard Kelsey Plum (Poway, Calif.) led Washington to a 2-0 week, capped by a career-best 35 points to help the Huskies pass then-No. 21 Colorado, 81-71, finishing just one point shy of the Husky freshman-scoring record. Going to the line 19 times against the Buffs, she set the school record for 18 free throws made. In the 53-52 overtime win over Utah, Plum scored 14 points and played all 45 minutes, grabbing six rebounds and going 6-for-6 from the free throw line, to go 24-for-25 over the two games. Plum averaged 24.5 points and 6.0 rebounds over the two games.

It is Harberts’ second-career player of the week honor and the 44th all-time for the Trojans. It is the fourth time this season Plum has received the weekly honor, including the third time in five weeks.

A player of the week has been selected every week since 1986-87, the first year the Conference sponsored women’s sports. A freshman of the week was first selected in 2012-13.

Both USC and Washington are on the road this week with the Huskies heading to Oregon State on Friday, Jan. 24 then wrapping up the road trip at Oregon on Sunday, Jan. 26. Both games will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks. The Trojans head to the Bay Area to take on No. 19 California on Friday on the Pac-12 Networks, then battle No. 4 Stanford on Monday, Jan. 27 on ESPN2 for the Network’s Big Monday coverage.
