WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UCLA sophomore guard Kyle Anderson has been named Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for play from Jan. 20-26, the Conference office announced today.

The Fairview, N.J., native averaged 15.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists to help UCLA sweep a pair of home games against Stanford and California. Anderson logged his team-leading 10th and 11th double-doubles in both games as UCLA pushed its overall record to 16-4, going 5-2 in Pac-12 play. The sophomore finished with 13 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds in the Bruins’ 91-74 win over Stanford on Thursday. Three days later, he tallied 17 points, a team-high 12 rebounds and five assists in UCLA’s 76-64 win over California. He is the Conference’s only player to rank among the top five in the Pac-12 in assists, rebounds and steals per game. No player in the nation is averaging as close to a triple-double this season as Anderson (15.5 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 6.7 apg).

This is the second-career weekly honor for Anderson, with his first honor coming on March 4, 2013 as a freshman for UCLA. It marks the Bruins’ 57th selection all-time.

The Bruins travel to Oregon and Oregon State this upcoming weekend, opening with a tilt against the Ducks on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. PT that can be seen on ESPN2. UCLA then faces off against the Beavers in Corvallis on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 11:30 a.m. PT in a match that will be televised on ESPNU.
