Greatness starts here with a two-hour ‘Pac-12 Football Weekly: Signing Day Special,’ offering a complete look at the next generation of talent joining Pac-12 rosters in the fall

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. (January 29, 2014) – While only a few weeks removed from the conclusion of the 2013 college football season, programs across the country have turned the page toward the 2014 season and beyond, securing the future talent of their teams on National Signing Day Wednesday, February 5. Pac-12 Networks is bringing fans complete coverage of the newest crop of talent joining the Conference of Champions and its football programs with a two-hour Pac-12 Football Weekly: Signing Day Special Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. PT, plus continuous coverage throughout the day on Pac-12.com.

Pac-12 Networks 2013 signing day coverage introduced fans to a number of standouts including UCLA’s Myles Jack, Colorado’s Addison Gillam, ASU’s Jaelen Strong and Cal’s Jared Goff, all making an immediate impact in their rookie season. On Wednesday’s Pac-12 Football Weekly Signing Day Special, host Mike Yam alongside Rick Neuheisel and Yogi Roth will present the new names to watch for in 2014. The show will also include interviews with every Pac-12 head football coach on their team’s commitments and how those signees work to meet each program’s needs. Additionally, the trio will take a look at the biggest signings and surprises from around college football how the recruiting classes of Pac-12 teams stack up against other college football programs from around the nation.

On Pac-12.com, fans can also find continuous coverage of signing day with news and updates on their favorite teams. Making its online debut during signing day coverage, the ‘Digital Minute’ will feature Pac-12 Networks talent providing the latest news and highlights from signing day, while the roundup blog is the source for pertinent links and key twitter follows for the day. Pac-12.com will also live stream head coach pressers and the Pac-12 Networks Football Podcast will post Wednesday evening with Yam, Neuheisel and Roth sharing final thoughts on all the day’s headlines.

As a prelude to signing day, Neuheisel and Roth have channeled their inner recruiter for the past week and captured the high stakes competition among coaches that occurs to ‘Land the Recruit.’ That recruit in question – host Mike Yam – has been the focal point of both Neuheisel and Roth via tweets, letter correspondence and messages as both ‘coaches’ work tirelessly to sway him toward their program. Through Pac-12.com and Pac-12 Networks’ social channels, fans have been able to follow the pitches of Neuheisel and Roth and weigh in on whether Yam should commit to #TeamRick or #TeamYogi by tweeting the hashtag. Yam will reveal his final decision Wednesday on Pac-12.com.

Wednesday’s signing day coverage is a prelude to Pac-12 Networks’ continuous off-season football programming slate that includes all new episodes of Pac-12 Football Weekly and enhanced live coverage of every Pac-12 spring football game beginning April 12.
