Women’s Golf Opens Spring Season in the Desert

THIS WEEK

The Washington State women’s golf team will kick off the spring season in Peoria, Ariz. for the Westbrook Village Spring Invitational Feb. 23-24 hosted by Wisconsin…shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. MT with the second round beginning at 1 p.m. MT on Sunday and a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. MT on Monday…last year at the Westbrook Invitational the Cougars finished seventh overall (+42, 906) with senior, Mallory Kent leading the way finishing tied-ninth (+4, 220).

THE COURSE

The tournament will be held at the Westbrook Village Golf Club Vistas Course…track will play at par-72 and 6,269-yards for the tournament.

THE FIELD

Joining Washington State in the tournament field will be College of Charleston, Colorado State, Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas State, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oregon, Oregon State, Tulsa, and Wisconsin.

REPRESENTING WASHINGTON STATE

Competing for the Cougar women will be Kristen Rue, Mallory Kent, Monica Huang, Cherokee Kim, and Rachel Lewis.

“The team has trained hard all year long to be well prepared for the spring season. The Westbrook Invitational is a great event and we are excited to head to Arizona this weekend to compete!”
