California's Stalter Pac-12 men's golfer of the month
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Joël Stalter of CALIFORNIA has been named the Pac-12 Men’s Golfer of the Month for February, the Pac-12 announced today.
The senior from Amneville, France, led the Golden Bears to a pair of tournament titles as he finished in a tie for first and followed with a second place finish.
Stalter opened the spring season finishing tied for medalist honors at the Arizona Intercolleagiate with teammate Brandon Hagy where he shot a 2-under 211 (71-73-67). He rallied from from nine strokes down after two rounds to tie Hagy for the top spot. In the John A. Burns Intercollegiate, which was shortened to 36 holes due to inclement weather, Stalter posted a 6-under 138 (67-71) to place second.
Dating back to the fall season, Stalter has finished in the top five in his last four events, including a victory at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational.
California has won five of its first seven events in 2013-14 and are currently ranked No. 2 in the latest Golfweek rankings. Other Pac-12 teams listed among the Top 25 include No. 9 STANFORD, No. 11 WASHINGTON, No. 19 UCLA and No. 22 USC.
