Women’s Golf Fifth After Two Rounds at Bruin Wave

TUCSON, Ariz. No. 11 Arizona women’s golf played two rounds at the Bruin Wave Invitational on Monday. Held at the El Caballero Country Club (par 72, 6,173 yards), the Wildcats finished in fifth place. The final round of play will begin at 8:30 a.m. MT.

No. 1 USC leads the team race with a score of 573 (-3). No. 2 UCLA sits in second with a 578 (+2). No. 17 Pepperdine rounds out the top three with a score of 581 (+5). No. 11 Arizona shot rounds of 299 and 295 for a score of 594 (+18). No. 62 Doris Chen of USC leads the individual race with a 139 (-5).

No. 26 sophomore Lindsey Weaver leads the Wildcats after two rounds of play in a tie for seventh place. She shot rounds of 73 and 71 to finish day one with a 144 (E). No. 96 junior Kendall Prince shares a four-way tie for 24th place. She collected scores of 74 and 77 for a two-round total of 151 (+7).

No. 93 freshman Jessica Vasilic sits in a six-way tie for 31st place with her score of 153 (+9). She shots individual rounds of 80 and 73. No. 22 freshman Wanasa Zhou shares a six-way tie for 37th place. Her rounds of 72 and 82 combine for a score of 154 (+10). No. 84 junior Andrea Vilarasau rounds out the Arizona five in a tie for 43rd place. She carded a score of 155 (+11) with rounds of 81 and 74.

For Tuesday’s final round, the Cats will tee at 9:20 a.m. MT and will be paired with No. 12 Oklahoma State and No. 9 Washington. Live results are available at golfstat.com.
