Men’s Golf Concludes Play at Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. – The Washington State University men’s golf team finished in 15th place at The Goodwin on the Stanford Golf Course, Sunday. The Cougars carded an 875 (+35) in the 54-hole tournament and finished nine strokes back from a tie for 13th place with Loyola Marymount and Colorado State (+26, 866).

Host school Stanford (-25, 815) won the tournament, while garnering the top individual performer in Patrick Rodgers (-14, 196).

WSU junior Michael Anderson and senior Blake Snyder paced the Cougars, shooting 2-over par (72) in the final round on the par-70 course. Anderson and Snyder carded three-round scores of 217 (+7) and finished tied for 48th. Junior Charlie Mroz also finished 2-over par on the day, carding two birdies on the front nine. Mroz notched a three-round score of 223 (+13) and tied teammate Sang Lee for 73rd. Senior Jarrett Foote (+17, 227) tied for 85th.

The Goodwin, formerly known as the United States Intercollegiate, was renamed prior to the 2014 edition in honor of former Stanford men’s golf coach, Wally Goodwin.

The Cougars will look to rebound with their final tournament of the regular season at Hawkeye-Great River Entertainment Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa, April 12-13, before competing in the Pac-12 Championships, April 25-27.
