Arizona State's Jimenez named Pac-12 women's golfer of the month
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Noemi Jimenez of ASU has been named the Pac-12 Women’s Golfer of the Month for March, the Pac-12 announced today.
A junior from Malaga, Spain, Jimenez has been a very consistent performer for the Sun Devils so far this spring. Of the eight tournaments in which Noemi has competed, she has recorded seven top-10 finishes, four of which have been top-five finishes.
According to Golfstat, Jimenez is currently ranked eighth in the country. She shot a career-low 66 at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge earlier this spring, which was the lowest single-round score of the tournament and the third-lowest single-round score in Sun Devil history. In the beginning of March, Jimenez tied for third at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, shooting a 1-under 212 (71-72-69) to record her sixth top-10 finish of the season. Most recently she lead the Sun Devils to a fourth place finish at the SDSU Farms Invitational finishing in a tie for fifth place with a 217 (+1).
ASU is currently ranked No. 6 in the latest Golfweek national rankings. Other Pac-12 teams listed among the Top 10 include No. 1 USC, No. 2 UCLA, No. 4 Stanford, No. 8 Arizona, and No. 9 Washington.
This is ASU’s first golfer of the month recipient this season and Jimenez’s first-career golfer of the month award.
