NAPA, Calif. The Oregon State women’s golf team posted its second-lowest three-round score in school history, a 19-over 883, to finish in fourth place, and ahead of six teams ranked in Golfstat’s Top 50, at the Silverado Showdown on Tuesday.

The Beavers concluded the two-day, 54-hole tournament with a 19-over 295-288-300--883 on the par-72, 6,969-yard North Course at the Silverado Resort and Spa to finish fourth in the 15-team field. Only No. 11 Washington, No. 1 USC and No. 20 Northwestern fared better.

Oregon State finished ahead of five Pac-12 teams, including No. 9 Arizona, No. 33 California and No. 35 Oregon, which should give the Beavers confidence when they host the conference championship at Trysting Tree Golf Club from Friday, April 25 to Sunday, April 27.

“I am so proud of this team,” Oregon State head coach Risë Alexander said. “They got off to a rocky start this morning and really pulled it together coming in. This is a great sign for this team as we head to postseason. Anica and Seshia continued their steady play as they finished this event. We will begin preparation for our conference tournament next week. I am very encouraged by this performance and see many more finishes like this in the future.”
