Arizona State

Thought-provoking article from CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd, as he makes us ponder, “What would Pat Tillman think of the world and game he loved 10 years after dying?” The former Arizona State stud was killed in combat 10 years ago Wednesday. You can watch a re-air of the 1996 Nebraska-Arizona State game in which the Sun Devils beat the No. 1 Huskers tonight at 7:30 PT on Pac-12 Arizona.

UCLA

Congrats to UCLA alum Meb Keflezighi for winning the Boston Marathon on the men’s side of things with a time of 2:08:37. He’s the first American in 31 years to win the Boston Marathon.

Oregon

Sports Illustrated writer Lindsay Schnell documents Oregon basketball guard Johnathan Loyd’s move from the court to the gridiron and asks us if Loyd is the new Johnny Football. Of course, Loyd is a wide receiver and not a quarterback, but I could go for that name if he’s doing work on the field next year.

Oregon State

Bad news for Beavers basketball fans: Hallice Cooke is planning to transfer, according to CBS Sports. He averaged 8.2 points per game as a freshman and showed a real knack for making it rain.

USC

USC football coach Steve Sarkisian said he made a mistake by giving No. 55 to an offensive lineman and will fix things. No. 55 is an historical defensive number in Troy, worn by the likes of Junior Seau and Willie McGinest, but it was mistakenly given to O-lineman Toa Lobendahn in March. (A frosh, no less!)

Washington State

Washington State AD Bill Moos says he is “reevaluating” the Seattle game. The Cougs play one home game each year in Seattle… but maybe for not much longer.

California

New Cal men’s basketball coach Cuonzo Martin is bringing two assistants from Tennessee: Tracy Webster and Jon Harris.

Colorado

He has had multiple injuries and a run-in with the law, so Colorado running back Terrence Crowder is thankful to still have a chance with the Buffs.

Washington

Here’s part one of a Q&A with Washington men’s basketball coach Lorenzo Romar, courtesy of Percy Allen of the Seattle Times.

Stanford

Kudos to Danny Diekroeger for being named the Pac-12 Player of the Week after smacking three game-winning hits last week.

Utah

If you’re looking for some diamond action Tuesday, Utah baseball is traveling to Utah Valley for a mid-week game that starts at 6 p.m. MT. The Fighting Bill Kinnebergs defeated the Wolverines 7-3 in their first meeting this year.

Arizona

Aaron Gordon and Nick Johnson have made their intentions clear and they hopefully will soon be placed in this photo gallery of Arizona Wildcats selected in the NBA draft.
