CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Everyone welcomed the sunshine today in Corvallis, Oregon for the second round of the 2014 Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championships at Trysting Tree Golf Course. A cold wind provided an extra challenge as the greens ran fast, but a great crowd gathered to watch some of the best golfers in the nation.

Six golfers still remain under par after the second round after 10 had finished below even on day one.

UCLA and ARIZONA battled for that top spot all day, but in the end the Bruins were able to maintain their slim one-stroke lead heading into the third and final round on Sunday. They continue to have three players under par and in the top-five individually, led by junior Erynne Lee, who played consistent golf throughout the day to climb into a tie for first-place and help the Bruins stay on top.

UCLA head coach Carrie Forsyth says her team isn’t focusing on the pressure of heading into the final round with the lead.

“Win or lose is not really a factor of us at this moment,” she said. “The girls have worked really hard and they are really focused on themselves and just trying to do the right things that are going to help them perform at their best.”

The Bruins are looking for their first win at the championships since they won three-straight from 2004-06 and their sixth overall.

Arizona sophomore Lindsey Weaver, a fierce competitor for the Wildcats, continues to have an impressive tournament, finishing even on the day and tied with UCLA’s Lee at 4-under par heading into the last day of competition.

Stanford sophomore, Lauren Kim, turned in the shot of the tournament, hitting her first career hole in one on the par-3 154-yard 13th hole.  The Cardinal currently sit in third with a 286 (+3).

Defending national champion Annie Park lead the Trojans back towards the top with an eagle and three birdies on the day. USC, now in fourth, showed great signs of improvement, turning in a score of 4-under par, 284, which was ten shots better than its performance yesterday.

WASHINGTON maintained its fifth-place position, recording a five over par 293 in the second round.

ARIZONA STATE and OREGON STATE both finished eight-over 296, and sit in sixth and seventh place overall, respectively. CALIFORNIA ended the second round in seventh after posting a second-round score of 11-over, 299.

OREGON saw improvements today, and has shot a 299, which is good for ninth overall. WASHINGTON STATE sits at ten-over 298 followed by COLORADO, which carded a 304 (+29).

A team and individual champion will be crowned tomorrow at the conclusion of the third and final round. Play begins at 8:30 a.m. PT on Sunday morning.
