NCAA men's golf championships: Stanford on top after shortened second round

The No. 2 ranked Stanford Cardinal was only one of six teams to complete the second round of play due to inclement weather interrupting play for over eight hours on Thursday at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan.

Only the top eight teams will make the cut after 54 holes of play to qualify for a match-play style playoff. The final two teams will play on Wednesday for the title match.

Stanford

The Cardinal finished the first round 1-over par and came roaring back in the second round to shoot a 13-under 267 finishing their first two rounds at a combined 12-under. Stanford is in the lead by four strokes over top-ranked and defending national champion Alabama who has yet to begin its second round. The top two ranked individuals in Partick Rodgers (-5) and Cameron Wilson (-6) lived up to their hype by finishing in the top three at the end of the second day.
