The Stanford Cardinal beat the Vanderbilt Commodores 5-4 Saturday in game 2 of their super regional matchup to force a winner-take-all game 3 on Sunday. Freshman Cal Quantrill started and pitched seven strong innings, giving up six hits and two earned runs. Reliever A.J. Vanegas struggled at times in his two innings, walking four and allowing the tying run to score in the top of the ninth on a hit by pitch with the bases loaded.
