WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - ARIZONA freshman forward Aaron Gordon was taken by the Orlando Magic with the fourth pick overall in the 2014 NBA Draft, leading six Pac-12 players selected in the first round and nine selected overall in the two rounds of the Draft. UCLA freshman guard Zach LaVine went to Minnesota with the 13th pick, followed by Bruin sophomore guard Jordan Adams to Memphis with the 22nd pick. The first round closed out with three consecutive Pac-12 players selected - WASHINGTON senior guard C.J. Wilcox to the Los Angeles Clippers at No. 28, STANFORD senior forward Josh Huestis to Oklahoma City at No. 29, and UCLA sophomore guard Kyle Anderson with the 30th pick to San Antonio.

COLORADO’s Spencer Dinwiddie (Detroit, No. 38), ARIZONA’s Nick Johnson (Houston, No. 42) and Stanford’s Dwight Powell (Charlotte, No. 45) were second round picks.

The nine Pac-12 players selected overall was matched by the ACC for most selections among all conferences. Over the last seven drafts, a total of 48 Pac-12 players representing 11 of the Conference’s 12 member institutions have been selected.

The Pac-12 has had 29 first round picks over the last seven years of the NBA Draft while Gordon is the highest selection of a Pac-12 player since Arizona’s Derrick Williams was the second pick in 2011.

For just the second time in Pac-12 history, three players from the same team were selected in the first round of the draft. UCLA’s LaVine, Adams and Anderson now share the honor with three former Bruins (David Greenwood, Roy Hamilton and Brad Holland) who were selected in the first round of the 1979 NBA Draft.
