T&F’s Houlihan Sets New PR In 800m Finals At USATF Championships

SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Arizona State track and field’s junior Shelby Houlihan set her second personal best of the weekend in the 800m run on Sunday as she ran 2:01.12 in the USATF Championship finals at Hornet Stadium.

Houlihan (Sioux City, Iowa) placed seventh overall in the event, bettering ASU’s school record for the second time in four days.

On Thursday, Houlihan ran 2:01.90 in the qualifying heat, and followed on Friday with a run at 2:02.55 in the semifinals. Ajee Wilson from adidas won the event in 1:58.70.
