BERKELEY – California was represented by three members on Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars list, the organization announced Tuesday.
A total of 664 women’s collegiate golfers were recognized across Divisions I, II & III for the prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
Cal’s selections to the WGCA All-American Scholars team were junior Jo Ee Kok, senior Nicola Rössler and junior Morgan Thompson. Rössler is a three-time selection after being named All-American Scholars for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons. Thompson is a two-time selection after earning the honor last season. It is the first selection for Kok, who becomes Cal’s 18th all-time honoree.
The honors cap a strong academic year for the upperclassman trio of Kok, Rössler and Thompson who were also all named to the Pac-12 All-Academic team. Kok was a first team selection from the conference, Rössler was a second team selection and Thompson was an honorable mention selection.
