Working in Westwood - Trent Kersten

Men's volleyball middle blocker Trent Kersten is spending his summer as an intern in the UCLA Athletics Recruiting department, gaining valuable experience as he gets a head start at working towards his dream job of becoming UCLA men's volleyball head coach.

Among Kersten's duties is giving campus tours to prospective student-athletes and sharing the great tradition of excellence among each of UCLA's sports programs. As he tells recruits, "Every single sport competes for a national championship every year. It's not one dominant program."

Kersten will return to the volleyball court for his junior season in 2014-15. Last year, he led the Bruins in blocks per set (0.93) and was second in total blocks with 85. He started 24 matches and hit .423 with 126 kills.
