Griffitts to Continue Playing Career in Italy

Jul 9, 2014

Former Arizona women’s basketball player Kama Griffitts has signed a contract to play for Virtus La Spezia in Italy, the program announced on Tuesday.

Griffitts will join a seven-player roster under head coach Barbiero Loris. Virtus La Spezia is a member of the Euroleague, the same league that former Arizona teammate Carissa Crutchfield will play in.

“This is a very exciting opportunity for me,” Griffitts said. “I am really eager to be able to continue to play the game that I love and use what I’ve learned at Arizona at the next level.”

Griffitts played at Arizona from 2012-14 after playing for North Idaho College for two years. As a Wildcat, she averaged 10.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 56 games. She started and played in every game during her senior season.
