Video: UCLA women's soccer pays tribute to Jon McCullough

Aug 22, 2014

The UCLA women's soccer team paid tribute to the late Jon McCullough on Friday as the Bruins defeated Maryland, 3-0, in their season opener in Westwood, which was broadcast on Pac-12 Networks.

UCLA coach Amanda Cromwell developed a close relationship with McCullough, who served as the chairman of U.S. Soccer's Athlete Council and was a major figure in the country's Olympic and Paralympic programs. McCullough, who represented Team USA as a defender in the 1996 and 2004 Paralympic games, lost his battle with cancer last week.

Cromwell wore a No. 14 McCullough Team USA jersey in his memory, while each of her players sported tape wristbands that said "Jon" to honor McCullough.
