Cayleb Jones scores a touchdown on Arizona's first offensive play
UTSA came into tonight's game against Arizona with lots of momentum, having held its first opponent, Houston, to negative rushing yards. The hype built during the past week, but that and a hometown crowd at the Alamodome didn't translate into a fast start against the Wildcats.
Instead, the hometown advantage (of sorts) went to Arizona receiver Cayleb Jones. The transfer from Texas and product of Austin High School turned a short pass into an 85-yard touchdown score on the first play from scrimmage. On the back end of the play, Jones even took the time to turn around and lay a nice stiff-arm on the Roadrunner defender.
The touchdown spotted the Wildcats seven of 10 points before UTSA got on the board just before the end of the first quarter.
