Pat Haden comes to Steve Sarkisian's defense on sideline during game
ABC's cameras caught an unusual sight during Saturday's USC-Stanford football game: USC Athletic Director Pat Haden interacting with officials on the sidelines.
Haden raced to the Trojans' sidelines late in the third quarter at the behest of head coach Steve Sarkisian, who'd received a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty moments earlier. Sarkisian spoke with Pac-12 Networks' Ashley Adamson following the game and said he summoned Haden because he was wary of receiving an additional penalty by arguing further. Here's that interview:
