Cal’s Oct. 31 Men’s Basketball Game Free To Public
BERKELEY – When the California Golden Bears take the court for their first game in the Cuonzo Martin era on Friday, Oct. 31, fans are invited to Haas Pavilion FREE of charge. The program has made its exhibition opener against Cal State East Bay at 7 p.m. (PT) on Halloween night free to the public, encouraging fans to come to Haas Pavilion for their first glimpse of the 2014-15 Golden Bears.
Cal will host a pair of exhibition games overall at Haas Pavilion, also welcoming Cal State San Marcos to Berkeley on Thursday, Nov. 6 for a 7 p.m. (PT) contest.
Tickets to the Nov. 6 exhibition game against Cal State San Marcos are available as part of the season ticket package. Click here for more details on how to order season tickets online or call 800-GO-BEARS.
The Golden Bears, in their first season under Martin, will open their regular-season slate at home against Alcorn State on Friday, Nov. 14 as part of the regional round of the 2K Classic benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project.
Martin, who led Tennessee to the Sweet 16 last season before being introduced as Cal’s head coach in April, inherits an experienced unit that includes three returning starters from last season’s 21-win team. Leading the way is senior forward David Kravish, Cal’s top returning scorer (11.4 ppg.) and rebounder (7.7 rpg.). Kravish has started Cal’s last 88 games and enters the 2014-15 season just 30 blocks shy of Cal’s all-time record of 207 and just 107 points shy of 1,000 for his career. He is joined by returning starting guards Tyrone Wallace (11.3 ppg.) and Jabari Bird (8.5 ppg.). Cal’s deep backcourt also features 2014 Pac-12 All-Freshman Team selection Jordan Mathews (8.5 ppg.).
The complete 2014-15 men’s basketball schedule, including game times and conference dates, will be announced at a later time when television selections are finalized.
