Women’s Golf To Host Oregon State Invitational
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State women’s golf team will open its 2014 fall season when it hosts the 10-team Oregon State Invitational Monday and Tuesday at Trysting Tree Golf Club.
The tournament will be the first for Sammie Chergo and Dawn Shockley as head coach and assistant coach, respectively, of the Oregon State women’s golf team. It will also be the first of five fall events for the Beavers, which culminates with the Pac-12 Preview in Hawai’i in early November.
ADMISSION: Admission is free.
FIELD (10): Oregon State, Boise State, Eastern Washington, Hawai’i, High Point, Montana, NAU, Portland State, San Francisco and South Dakota State.
COURSE: The tournament will be held at the par-72, 6,283-yard Trysting Tree Golf Club.
FORMAT: Two-day, 54-hole tournament with 36 holes of continuous play on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.
TEE TIMES: There will be a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday.
LIVE SCORING: There will be no live scoring for the tournament. Results will be posted to osubeavers.com after conclusion of play each day.

LAST TIME AT THE OREGON STATE INVITATIONAL: Oregon State hosted its own tournament for the first time in six years in 2012 and finished in fourth place in the 16-team field. The Beavers finished the two-day, 54-hole event with a 33-over 294-303-300--897 at the par-72, 6,141-yard Trysting Tree Golf Club, their eighth-best three round team score in school history.
Washington ran away with the team title with an 11-under 853, 25 strokes better than its intrastate rival Washington State, which finished second with a 14-over 878. Husky Charlotte Thomas won medalist honors with a 5-under 211.
Seshia Telles finished in a tie for third place with a 2-under 72-72-70--214, just one stroke off the Oregon State record of 3-under 213 that was set in 1998 by Kathleen Takaishi at the Wahine Classic in Oahu, Hawai’i.
Anica Yoo had a very solid tournament with a 3-over 71-74-74--219 for a tie for 11th place. Chelsea Saelee finished in a tie for 53rd place in her first collegiate event with an 18-over 75-78-81--234, while Lauren Sewell and Rachael Fischer each tied for 63rd with a 22-over 238.
