UCLA Football Inks Takkarist McKinley

LOS ANGELES – UCLA head football coach Jim Mora announced the addition of Takkarist McKinley on Monday. McKinley is a 6-4, 230-pound defensive end/linebacker that joins the Bruins from Contra Costa College.

McKinley played one season at Contra Costa College after a prep career at Kennedy High School in Richmond, Calif. He recorded 10 sacks with 18.5 tackles for a loss and totaled 33 tackles last season for the Comets and will have three years of eligibility for the Bruins.

McKinley, rated as the No. 6 junior college prospect in the country by 247Sports and the No. 1 player in California also holds a four-star rating by Rivals. On top of his football prowess, McKinley was a standout in track at Kennedy, running personal bests of 10.58 in the 100m and 21.58 in the 200m.
