LIVE BLOG: Cal at UC Davis (3pm PT)

California (4-2) opens the NorPac season today at UC Davis (1-4) in our first time visiting the new Aggie Field Hockey Facility. Follow this blog for live updates of the game, and find live stats by CLICKING HERE.

2:00 pm - We are just one hour away from the start of the game. It is around 88 degrees here in Davis today.

2:30 pm - Starting lineups are in! For the Bears: GK (Hendrickson), D (Goni, Swensen, Gibbens, Gutierrez), M (Seibt, Stankiewiz, Marrazzo), F (Wallstedt, Earle, Kruggel)

2:47 pm - The Bears will wear all blue today while the Aggies will wear all white. Just six minutes remain until the national anthem here at the Aggie FH Facility.

3:00 pm - Anthem is over and we are ready to begin play in Davis.

3:05 pm - We have a great turnout here in Davis with the stands split 50-50 between Aggie and Bears fans. 

3:08 pm - LARA KRUGGEL scores an unassisted goal in the 6th minute to make it 1-0 California!

3:08 pm - The goal is Kruggel's sixth of the season in six games played for the senior. It is her third goal in the opening 10 minutes of a game this season.

3:14 pm - Monica Marrazzo feeds a thru ball up to Andrea Earle for a breakaway but UC Davis goalkeeper Makheila Macdonald comes through with a diving save to keep the score at 1-0 Cal.

3:18 pm - UC Davis with a great shot at Hendrickson, but the Cal goalkeeper makes a glove save to keep the Aggies off the board.

3:21 pm - Timeout is called by UC Davis. California still holds a 1-0 lead courtesy of a Lara Kruggel goal in the 6th minute.

3:24 pm - Play is back in action.

3:26 pm - Penalty corner awarded to the Golden Bears. Marrazzo takes it and Kruggel's shot is blocked. The Bears are awarded another penalty corner in the aftermath that is taken by Marrazzo, and Kruggel's shot is saved.

3:30 pm - Penalty corner awarded to Cal. Marrazzo takes it and Andrea Earle's shot is wide.

3:33 pm - A counter attack by UC Davis leads to a 2v1 opportunity, but Hendrickson kicks away the attempt. 

3:35 pm - Penalty corner awarded to Cal. Seibt takes it and Kruggel's shot goes wide. 

3:37 pm - ANDREA EARLE scores her fourth goal of the season with an assist by Lara Kruggel to make it 2-0 Cal in the 30th minute. 

3:40 pm - Kristen Lee subs in for her first appearance since the 2012 season due to injuries.

3:42 pm - HALFTIME! California has a 2-0 lead at the break with goals by Lara Kruggel and Andrea Earle. 

3:43 pm - Ten minutes until the next half begins.

3:46 pm - Halftime Stats. Shots (Cal 8-5), Shots on Goal (Tied 3-3), Saves (Cal 3-1), Penalty Corners (Cal 4-0)

3:54 pm - The second half is now underway! Kori Griswold subs in for the Bears in goal.

4:00 pm - Two consecutive shots by UC Davis are saved by Griswold in the 41st minute.

4:01 pm - LARA KRUGGEL scores her second of the game and seventh of the season to give the Bears a 3-0 lead in the 42nd minute.

4:07 pm - UC Davis goes down and Griswold with a big glove-save.

4:11 pm - Penalty corner awarded to the Aggies, and Hannah Drawbridge scored the goal to make the score 3-1. 

4:14 pm - Fifteen minutes remain in the game with California leading 3-1

4:16 pm - Green card given to Monica Marrazzo of California.

4:16 pm - Courtney Hendrickson subs back into goal.

4:18pm - Penalty corner awarded to California. Collins take it and no attempt comes, but the Bears are awarded another. Collinas again takes it and scores a tip-in from Andrea Earle. 4-1 Golden Bears on Collins' first goal of the season.

4:26 pm - Five minutes remaining in the game with the Bears leading 4-1 with goals by Kruggel (2), Andrea Earle and Lexi Collins

4:28 pm - Penalty corner awarded to UC Davis. Wigney takes it and the shot goes wide.

4:29 pm - Green card given to Cal's Sydney Earle.

4:30 pm - Penalty corner awarded to UC Davis. Wigney takes it and a goal is scored by Jamie Garcia to cut the Cal lead to 4-2 with less than two minutes remaining.

4:32 pm - Penalty corner awarded to the Bears just before the final whistle. Lexi Collins takes it and a goal is scored by Paula Seibt and assisted by Natalie Gibbens.

4:33 pm - FINAL! California takes a 5-2 win at UC Davis to improve our winning streak to four consecutive games. The Bears are 5-2 (1-0 NorPac) on the season.
