Cal’s Paula Seibt Named NorPac Freshman of the Week

BERKELEY – California’s Paula Seibt has been named the NorPac Freshman of the Week after her solid performances at UC Davis and Stanford, the conference announced Tuesday.

Paula Seibt scored her first two career goals in Cal’s NorPac opening games on the road at UC Davis and at No. 8 Stanford with her goal against the Cardinal making her just the fourth player this season to score a goal past Stanford goalkeeper Dulcie Davies.

Further, not only is she the first Golden Bear to score against Stanford since the 2012 season, she is the first Cal freshman to score against Stanford since Natalie Nurnberg scored two goals as a redshirt freshman in a 4-1 win at Stanford on September 28, 2007 – a span of seven seasons since a Golden Bear freshman has been able to score on their rival.

On the weekend, Seibt scored two goals on a total of three shots taken.

The Bears travel back to the east coast to take on two nationally-ranked teams in Duke and Wake Forest this weekend.
