Marker Falls at Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships

Oct 1, 2014

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Sophomore Lauren Marker competed well, but dropped a tough three-set decision to Michigan’s Sarah Lee, 6-7, 7-5, 6-1, in the first round of qualifying play at the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships on Tuesday afternoon.

The loss eliminates Marker from the tournament. Marker represented Arizona as one of the top 56 Division I athletes in the country, including 16 from the Pac-12, in the qualifying singles portion of the event.

The Wildcats are back in action this weekend as they host the 2014 Wildcat Invitational at the El Conquistador Golf and Tennis Resort (10000 N. Oracle, Tucson, AZ) this Friday through Sunday. Match play begins each morning at 9 a.m.
