Jared Baker shines in Arizona's loss to USC
The Wildcats’ stay in the AP top 10 is almost certainly over for now after falling to USC 28-26 Saturday in Tucson, but the silver lining around the heartbreaker is that Arizona may have found some more running back depth.
With freshman stud Nick Wilson out with an ankle injury and walk-on-turned-starter Terris Jones-Grigsby going out in the first half after suffering a vicious hit from USC defensive lineman Leonard Williams, Jared Baker scored three second-half touchdowns to keep the game close. They were his first three touchdowns of the season.
Entering the weekend with just 11 carries for 53 yards and zero receptions on the season, Baker rushed for 43 yards on 12 carries and two touchdowns and caught four passes for 50 yards and a touchdown.
